Taverham Hall Friends have very kindly raised money to provide the Nursery with a fantastic climbing frame. You can see from the children’s faces below, just how excited and happy they were to get this brilliant new equipment that is encouraging their imaginative play and physical development.

Nursery 2 all went on a fantastic trip to Norwich Castle museum to link in with their topic on Castles, Knights and Princesses. The children were shown around the castle by a museum educator who provided them with stories, activities and guidance. In the main hall the children were fascinated by the extremely deep well where they all dropped a penny down and made a wish. The children attempted to make a stone arch, chisel away at the castle walls, dressed up in costume and saw some real knights before exploring the rest of the museum. The children also really enjoyed looking at all the stuffed animals in the gallery. We had a fantastic day and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. A special thank you to all the parents that joined in with the fun .

Children in Nursery all really enjoy books, reading them themselves, to one another or being read to by the teachers.
The children all built a sturdy wall in which their Humpty Dumpty egg was carefully balanced on top. The children then used the electronic Bee Bot to knock the egg off the wall. They programmed the Bee Bot with a series of commands to move in the correct direction. It was lucky that the eggs had been hard boiled!

David Brown, one of the groundsmen and a familiar face to the Nursery children, came to talk to the children about the chickens he looks after at school. He read the children a story explaining a chicken’s life cycle then took us into the woods where we visited the four Taverham Hall chickens. The children listened carefully as David explained how to look after them and what we could do to help. After our time with David we paid a visit to the newly hatched chicks that Reception children had been looking after. We all took great care to hold the chicks carefully and gently.

Getting very messy by making paper mache eggs exploring the yucky sticky textures:
